Ganigarahalli Inscription
Dec 21, 2017
This stone inscription from 1342CE, typical of Hoysala inscriptions has an emblem (a man’s body with two opposing bird heads fighting a tiger) at the top of the inscription. The inscription records a ‘daana’ (donation), a ‘sarvamanya kodige’ (tax exemption to lands or villages) to the ‘savantadhipathi’s‘ (chieftain’s) son Allayya.
